Job description

Position OverviewAre you interested in working with children while building valuable experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)? Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians.Behavior Technicians provide direct, individualized support to children receiving ABA services. Working under the guidance of a clinical team, technicians help implement treatment programs designed to strengthen communication, social interaction, adaptive functioning, and independence while supporting the reduction of behaviors that may interfere with daily life.Services are provided primarily in clients' homes and community environments based on individual treatment needs.The typical service window is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM–8:00 PM, with scheduling determined by client needs and employee availability.Hourly Compensation: $20–$27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Bilingual Spanish-speaking applicants may be eligible for additional compensation.Your RoleAs a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with clients and become an important member of their treatment team. Your responsibilities may include:Delivering one-on-one ABA services according to individualized treatment programs.Supporting clients in developing communication, social, self-help, and daily living skills.Implementing behavior intervention and skill acquisition strategies under clinical supervision.Using evidence-based ABA practices to encourage learning and independence.Supporting strategies designed to decrease behaviors that may affect safety, learning, or daily functioning.Collecting accurate client data during treatment sessionspleting session documentation and other required records accurately and on timemunicating observations, concerns, and progress with supervising BCBAs and other team members.Maintaining positive, respectful, and professional interactions with clients and families.Following established clinical, ethical, safety, and confidentiality guidelines.Remaining adaptable to the changing needs of individual clients and treatment environments.Individuals with coursework, degrees, or experience in psychology, education, human services, child development, social services, or related fields are encouraged to apply.Candidate QualificationsWe are looking for individuals who are reliable, compassionate, professional, and eager to learn.RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's licenseReliable transportationActive automobile insurance listing you as a covered driverCurrent negative TB testPreferred SkillsCandidates should be able to demonstrate:Effective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to collaborate with BCBAs and other clinical professionalsStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesFlexibility and creativityDependability and consistent attendanceProfessional conduct and appropriate boundariesPatience and compassion when working with childrenAbility to remain composed and use good judgment in challenging situationsOpenness to feedback, coaching, and continued professional developmentThe position involves active participation during client sessions and may require lifting or moving therapy materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Physical & Cognitive ExpectationsEmployees in this position must be able to perform physical and cognitive tasks associated with providing direct client services, including:Frequently sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and transitioning between floor-level and standing positions.Participating in developmentally appropriate activities, including floor play, movement activities, transitions, and safety monitoring.Working safely in homes, clinics, schools, community environments, and remote/telehealth settings when applicable.Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving therapy materials and equipment, generally up to 50 pounds.Sitting for extended periods when providing telehealth services or completing computer-based tasks.Operating computers, keyboards, mobile devices, and other equipment requiring fine motor coordination.Maintaining visual and auditory awareness to monitor client behavior, recognize safety concerns, and communicate effectively.Reading, understanding, retaining, and applying written and verbal instructions.Maintaining concentration, attention, situational awareness, and sound judgment in dynamic environments.Accurately collecting, recording, and submitting client data and session documentation.Maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.Remaining professional and emotionally resilient when addressing sensitive client, family, employee, or workplace concerns.Benefits & Professional DevelopmentAt Ad Astra, we want our Behavior Technicians to have the resources and training necessary to succeed.Benefits and development opportunities include:Paid Time Off (PTO)Sick leaveMileage reimbursementPaid drive timeFree 40-hour RBT trainingOngoing training and professional developmentStructured performance-based pay increasesOpportunities to earn additional hourly compensation through our incentive programIncentive PayBehavior Technicians may qualify for additional hourly increases through continued availability and professional development:$1/hour increase after maintaining consistent availability for 90 consecutive days.Additional $1/hour increase after successfully obtaining RBT certification.Client Cancellation PayWe recognize that last-minute cancellations can impact a technician's scheduled hours.
