The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a Parks Maintenance Worker to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Parks and Recreation department.
The Parks Maintenance Worker earns a competitive salary of $17.10 - $18.51/hour based on qualifications. We also offer access to the city's recreation fitness center and employee assistance program.

Job Summary:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform maintenance and construction duties.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Essential Functions:
Maintains parks and fields by trimming trees, mulching, installing and maintaining flower beds, leveling parks and fields, repairing fencing, cleaning and maintaining restrooms and removing trash, planting and fertilizing seeds and grass, and chemical weed killing.
Repairs and maintains equipment such as mowers, tractors, weed eaters, trimmers, chainsaws, and trailers.
Clean and maintain shop area.
Assists Special Events in setup, teardown and during events.
Assists the recreation department with furniture moving.
Performs related work as assigned.
Serves as "essential personnel" and is required to remain available for immediate call-in due to any natural or man-made disaster, or any other event the Park Superintendent, the Director of Parks and Recreation and/or City Manager deem necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Six (6) months to one (1) year previous experience in a related field, preferred.
Experience working in ball field maintenance is preferred.
Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
