ABOUT MY BEST HOMECARE:My Best Homecare, Inc. (MBHC) is a Joint Commission-accredited DME provider headquartered in San Jose, California, with satellite locations throughout the state. Since 2005, MBHC has been a trusted provider of home respiratory equipment and clinical respiratory support for medically complex adult and pediatric patients - including those living with ALS, neuromuscular disease, spinal cord injury, and ventilator dependency.
We are known for our depth of clinical expertise in home mechanical ventilation - both non-invasive and invasive via tracheostomy - and for our unwavering commitment to patient safety, caregiver education, and regulatory compliance. At MBHC, respiratory therapists are clinical partners, not just equipment delivery staff.
THE OPPORTUNITY:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our clinical team in a full-time capacity. This is a patient-facing home care role with significant clinical depth. You will deliver high-quality caregiver and patient education, perform equipment setups and evaluations in the home environment, and serve as a clinical liaison to referring physicians, ALS clinics, neurology practices, and hospital discharge teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Home Ventilator Management:
  • Perform initial setup, ongoing monitoring, and clinical assessment of home mechanical ventilators (invasive and non-invasive).
  • Conduct routine in-home ventilator checks.
  • Review ventilator download data and document clinical findings.
  • Share on-call schedules with other RTs in responding to urgent patient needs and equipment troubleshooting.

Patient & Caregiver Education:
  • Deliver comprehensive training to patients, family members, and other caregivers on safe equipment use, alarm management, circuit maintenance, and emergency procedures.
  • Reinforce individualized education plans, particularly for newly discharged ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Assess caregiver competency and document education in the patient record.

Equipment Setup & Training:
  • Perform initial setup and follow-up visits as scheduled.
  • Ensure proper interface fitting, mask selection, and circuit configuration.
  • Complete and document all required CMS/Medicare order verification, delivery confirmation, and equipment logs per MBHC compliance policies.

Physician & Clinical Liaison:
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transitions and ongoing care at home.
  • Communicate clinical findings and patient status updates to ordering physicians in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in care conferences and multi-disciplinary team meetings as requested.
  • Support MBHC's business development efforts by building and maintaining strong relationships with referral sources.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential - CRT candidates with strong home care experience will be considered.
  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in good standing.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency with mechanical ventilation (invasive and/or non-invasive).
  • Clean and valid California driver's license and willingness to drive long distance for patient home visits.
  • Strong patient and caregiver communication skills - ability to teach complex clinical concepts to non-medical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment in the home environment.

Preferred:
  • Experience with ALS, neuromuscular disease, pediatric ventilator, or tracheostomy patient populations.
  • Familiarity with ventilator platforms such as Philips Trilogy, ResMed Stellar, Breas, or LTV series.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a home care, post-acute, or complex respiratory setting.
