GEOMET Recycling is looking for a Bilingual Retail Scale Operator to join our team in Garland. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in customer service, retail, receiving, data entry, or logistics who is looking for a stable full-time position with a family-owned company. No scrap-metal experience? That's okay. We will train the right person!

What You'll Do: As a Retail Scale Operator, you will be one of the first points of contact for customers visiting our recycling facility. You will be responsible for accurately weighing and processing customer loads while providing excellent service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service in English and Spanish.
• Weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials accurately.
• Identify and properly classify different types of recyclable materials.
• Enter weights, material information, pricing, and customer information into the computer system.
• Create accurate customer tickets for payment.
• Verify ticket information and ensure transactions are entered accurately.
• Answer customer questions and explain procedures and material requirements.
• Communicate with yard personnel regarding customer loads and material.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Help keep the scale area organized, clean, and professional.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working in a busy environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
• Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately enter and verify information.
• Comfortable working with customers and handling multiple tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors and in an industrial/recycling environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a team.

Preferred, but not required:

• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• Data entry or computer experience.
• Experience working with scales, weights, pricing, or inventory.
• Experience in recycling, scrap metal, construction, trucking, or a similar industry.
