Holyoke Medical Center Laboratory has an exciting entry-level position available for applicants#interested in diagnostic medicine.#The applicant must share a passion for our lab mission statement,#which is working collaboratively to ensure quality results for every patient, every time. The job#responsibilities are to#assist laboratory staff, clinical staff and patients in diverse roles within the#clinical laboratory. The Laboratory Assistant will register and receive specimens, enter specimen#data into a software system, prepare samples for further laboratory analysis, perform#COVID-19 /Flu/Strep molecular testing, transport specimens to other labs and clinical departments.#Responsibilities include: customer service, training, answering phones, entering precise and#accurate data, adherence to laboratory regulations and performance of testing according to standard#operating success. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma and previous work experience required.#Bachelor#s degree in Biology,#Microbiology or Health Science preferred. Previous#experience in a healthcare setting or medical laboratory experience strongly preferred. Applicants must have: A passion for caring about a community through quality work in a stand-alone hospital lab. A drive for learning new practices to be able to adapt to our rapidly growing test menu. A willingness to offer new ideas to the team to help with our culture of continuous#improvement. A high level of attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
