Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Installer (Journeyman)Location: Cerritos, CAAbout the RoleGolden Star Technology (GST) is seeking an experienced Journeyman Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Installer to join our growing team in Cerritos, CA.This hands-on role is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and support of structured cabling, low-voltage infrastructure, network cabling, fiber optic, and audiovisual (AV) systems across a variety of commercial, education, healthcare, and government environments.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys technical challenges, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is looking to build a long-term career with an award-winning technology solutions provider. Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, test, certify, and troubleshoot structured cabling, low-voltage, fiber optic, and network infrastructure systemsPerform cable pulls, terminations, cable drops, labeling, and testing for copper and fiber optic cablingInstall and support AV systems, including displays, projectors, video conferencing equipment, AV racks, and related technologiesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and project documentationInstall cable pathways, racks, cabinets, supports, and associated hardwareAssist with system layout, installation planning, and project executionConfigure, update, and support AV control systems and related software as requiredCollaborate with project managers, technicians, customers, and vendors to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on scheduleMentor and support junior technicians while promoting installation best practicesMaintain a professional customer-facing presence and represent the GST brandAdhere to all safety, quality, and industry installation standardsQualifications3-5+ years of experience in structured cabling, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, network infrastructure, AV installation, or related technology projectsExperience with Cat5e, Cat6, copper, fiber optic, single-mode, and multimode cablingProven ability to install, terminate, test, certify, and troubleshoot structured cabling systemsStrong knowledge of industry installation standards, cable management, testing equipment, and best practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction documentsStrong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skillsTeam-oriented, dependable, and detail-focused with the ability to work independently and collaborativelyWillingness to learn new technologies and pursue industry certificationsBICSI, manufacturer, AVIXA, CTS, or other relevant low-voltage, cabling, or AV certifications are a plusAbility to lift to 50 lbs. and work safely on ladders, lifts, and elevated work areasValid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as neededMust provide standard hand tools customarily used in the tradeCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensationMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance401(k) with company-sponsored benefitsPaid vacation and holidaysEmployee perks and community service opportunitiesProfessional development, training, and certification supportAbout Golden Star Technology (GST)Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Cerritos, CA, Golden Star Technology (GST) is a leading provider of IT and AV solutions serving businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies nationwide.
