Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Water/Wastewater Systems

Location: Detroit, MI
Industry: Water/Wastewater Treatment
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid/Field-Based

About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a hands-on and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to support and service water and wastewater treatment plants. This is a dynamic, field-based role that involves troubleshooting, testing, and repairing technical equipment in real-world environments.

  • A hybrid schedule (home-based when not dispatched to service sites)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field service, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of water/wastewater systems

  • Diagnose and repair PLCs, VFDs, electrical control panels, wiring, pumps, and motors

  • Provide prompt and professional customer support during site visits

  • Manage workflow according to project schedules

  • Generate timely and accurate service reports and documentation

  • Follow company procedures, safety protocols, and service standards

  • Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and internal teams

  • Maintain technical knowledge of evolving equipment, tools, and technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience

  • Proficiency with PLC systems, VFDs, electrical troubleshooting, wiring, pumps, and motor systems

  • Ability to test, repair, and service complex technical equipment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a willingness to continually learn

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally (within 2-hour radius of Wixom)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Water/Wastewater treatment plant experience (highly preferred)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related field
