Microvellum Engineer

Willing to consider some remote work to candidates with a proven track record of working from home with Microvellum Experience - This would be a hybrid remote role and you would still need to come into the office a few days a week.




This role will be pivotal in the manufacturing, engineering, and management of multiple projects simultaneously from contract agreement until the job is complete, especially regarding engineering cabinets/fixtures for production using Microvellum.




This position will be responsible for interpreting architectural drawings and applying their casework and millwork experience to produce CNC Code and documentation required for production. This role may expand to include creating detailed shop drawings for submittal. A successful engineer is creative and will find ways to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently and on time. While the ideal employee is proud to be “right a lot” in his/her work, he/she is not too proud to ask a teammate for help as the ideal candidate understands that individual success is essential to the team’s overall success. This role will require signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement.




Essential Tasks (including, but not limited to):

Employee may perform other related duties as needed to meet ongoing business needs or additional duties may be assigned per employee’s growth and development.

· Assess the drawings to determine the proper starting product to be modified to create new custom products; ability to create custom products in Microvellum.

· Assign proper materials to products with attention to thickness, board sizes and grain/pattern directions.

· Include and assign machining to parts for all applicable hardware including hinges, pulls, drawer slides, grommets, access panels, row holes, etc.

· Understanding of basic machine operations and distinguishing proper tooling to assign for each machining action.

· Create organized nest drawings to be used by the machine operator.

· Troubleshoot G-code and machine error codes as they relate to the CNC program.

· Work with shop floor personnel on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements.

· Interpret architectural and interior design drawings to create 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD.

· Provide complete, detailed and accurate drawings to manufacture operations adhering to customers' needs and any applicable codes and regulations.

· Prepare construction information (i.e. drawings, cut lists, BOM) giving the necessary information for programming, machining, and assembly operations.

· Develop and modify existing products from established standard specifications.

· Prepare approval drawings that ensure all the essential product information is signed off by the customer.

Reporting requirements (subject to change):

· Daily report by end of business day sent via email to direct Supervisor to include hours worked, updates regarding projects completed/outstanding, etc.

· Will set schedule for assignment completion with supervisor and work to keep schedule.

· Respond to all company emails within one business day.

o VPN connection to transfer files to the server

· Constant sitting – up to 8 hours/day, 5 days a week. May be required to work 6 days/week depending on business need.
