We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Recreation to lead, develop, and oversee a dynamic recreation and activities program that promotes resident engagement, well-being, and quality of life.

As the Director of Recreation, you will:
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate recreation and activities staff.
Develop and implement engaging activity programs that meet the needs and interests of residents.
Lead regular staff meetings to plan, conduct, and evaluate activities and special events.
Establish and maintain a successful volunteer program, including recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Serve as a community liaison to build partnerships and utilize community resources that enhance programming.
Ensure compliance with all required training and regulatory requirements.
Maintain organized, clean, and safe activity spaces and common areas.
Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and departmental evaluations.
Manage departmental records, projects, schedules, budgets, and operational processes effectively.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and organizational events.
Candidates must possess one of the following:
Bachelor's degree and qualification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional; or
Associate degree and qualification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional through applicable experience, certification, approved training, or current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
Experience leading recreation, therapeutic recreation, activities, or resident engagement programs.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
Ability to make sound decisions and work independently.
Basic computer proficiency.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
