Job description

Job Summary:

The ServiceNow Developer will design, build, and enhance scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform, focusing on secure API integrations, custom development, and improving IT Service Management (ITSM) capabilities. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to deliver user-centered, accessible, and maintainable solutions, while leveraging AI and automation technologies within the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain ServiceNow applications and platform enhancements.
  • Build secure and reliable integrations using REST, SOAP, webhooks, IntegrationHub, MID Server, and related technologies.
  • Develop scripted REST APIs, business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies, and Flow Designer workflows.
  • Configure and extend ITSM capabilities including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, Service Catalog, and CMDB.
  • Create intuitive and accessible experiences across Employee Center, Service Portal, workspaces, forms, catalogs, and mobile.
  • Partner with stakeholders, product owners, architects, and support teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform, integration, data, and performance issues.
  • Apply development standards, security controls, automated testing, code review, source control, and release-management practices.
  • Develop reusable components and documentation; support upgrades and releases.
  • Evaluate and implement AI and automation opportunities within ServiceNow.

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of ServiceNow development and configuration experience.
  • Proficient in JavaScript and ServiceNow client-side and server-side scripting (3 years).
  • Experience with API integration design, security, and troubleshooting (2 years).
  • Knowledge of REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, OAuth 2.0, authentication, logging, and monitoring (2 years).
  • Understanding of ServiceNow ITSM processes and modules (2 years).
  • Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Service Catalog, ACLs, and automated testing (2 years).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow data models, tables, reference relationships, and CMDB (2 years).
  • Expertise in user-centered solution design, accessibility, security, and maintainability (2 years).
  • Strong testing, code review, source control, and release-management skills (2 years).
  • Analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills (3 years).
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders (3 years).
  • Experience with Employee Center, Service Portal, UI Builder, and configurable workspaces (2 years).
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow AI technologies such as Now Assist, generative AI, Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent, or AI Search (2 years).
  • Experience with enterprise integrations, accessibility, and relevant certifications such as CSA, CAD, CIS-ITSM, or ITIL (2 years).
  • Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Experience with other ServiceNow domains including ITOM, CSM, HRSD, IRM/GRC, or App Engine (2 years).
  • Familiarity with automated deployment pipelines, Agile delivery, and DevOps practices (2 years).

Special Considerations:

  • Candidate must reside in the US and comply with Commonwealth of Virginia security policies prohibiting offshore IT contractors.
  • On-site presence required 3 days per week with no exceptions; Richmond, VA candidates preferred due to on-site requirement.
  • Parking is not provided for contractors.

Scheduling:

  • Work schedule includes on-site attendance three days per week.
  • Assignment duration from September 7, 2026, to September 6, 2027.
