Reliability Engineer

Houston, TX

The actual location of this job is in Houston, US. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. You will play a key role connecting Lonza, our customers, and patients. As a Reliability Engineer, you will support manufacturing operations by improving equipment reliability and ensuring consistent performance in a regulated environment. This is a site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest standards.

What you will do:

  • Analyze equipment performance to identify failure trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and apply tools such as FMEA and RCM

  • Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies

  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment uptime

  • Track and report key reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTTR

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and safety standards

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing environments

  • Knowledge of GMP/cGMP principles and regulated industry practices

  • Familiarity with reliability tools such as FMEA, RCA, RCM, or TPM

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
