Reviews medical history at every visit.b. Examines and assesses patient. Charts all pathologic conditions and reports these tothe patient.c. Holds informed consent discussion with patient, documents same in the record, andassures appropriate forms are signed prior to initiating treatment.d. Documents all treatment provided in accordance with COLUMBIA DENTAL policyand procedures and signs the patient record.Assists in monitoring and directing clinical performance of dental hygienists, departmentsupport staff, and students or residents.Supervises taking of x-rays and monitors quality/procedure for x-rays and other equipmentoperation and procedures by assistants and recommends improvements when needed.Assists with in-service training or orientation and continuing education for dental staff.Practices in accord with OSHA guidelines and standards and complies with HIPAAregulations regarding confidentiality of patient information.Maintains all required certification and licensingEducation & Experience:*Doctoral degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD)A state license to practice dental medicineMinimum 5 years of experienceIn-depth understanding of oral hygiene and dental proceduresWorking experience in diagnosing illnesses and treating themAbility to communicate with patients about their oral health and problemsCompassion and patienceAttention to detailAbility to work under pressurePhysical Demands:*Ability to be physically mobile (stand, walk, reach, climb, bend) and also the ability to stand for prolonged periods throughout the day/work hours when neededManual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, keyboard, copier, telephone, and the ability to write/typeMust be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionallyReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.Note: The organization reserves the right to change the responsibilities and duties of this or any position at any time due to business necessity, with or without notice.
