Job description
  • Please no recruiting agencies. We handle all recruiting in-house. Spartan Shield Solutions is a rapidly growing veteran-owned Fractional CFO and Outsourced Accounting firm based in Arlington, VA. We serve organizations across all industries, with a focus on government contractors. Spartan Shield works closely with its clients to improve operations, productivity and organization while meeting compliance requirements. We do this through increasing access to up-to-date financial information, reducing inefficiencies and freeing senior management to focus more on revenue generating activities. Spartan Shield is seeking a knowledgeable, driven individual to help the continued success of the company and the clients we support in a Costpoint Senior Accountant capacity. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the CFO and Controller to deliver superb accounting services. Successful candidates MUST have government contracting as well as Costpoint and / or Unanet software experience. This role is a hybrid position, asking candidates to occasionally come into the office in Arlington, VA for meetings or conferences. Otherwise, may work remotely QUALIFICATIONSA Bachelor's or above in accounting or equivalent work experience5+ years of accounting experience3+ years of Government Contractor or Construction experienceMust have experience with Deltek Costpoint and / or Unanet softwareProficiency in at least one of the following additional software programs a plus : QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics, Jamis, QuickBooks DesktopCPA is a plusFamiliarity with GAAP, cost accounting requiredFamiliarity with FAR required Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other standard office applicationsStrong problem solving and reasoningAble to prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlinesExcellent written and oral communicationMust be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the futureRESPONSIBILITIESProvide superior customer serviceReview of accounts payable and cash disbursements for multiple clientsPreparation of billingsReview of billings and receivablesPerform bank and other account reconciliationsPrepare journal entries and month-end closings, including financial statement preparationProcess and administer payrollAssist with support for annual tax and compliance filingsAssist with preparation of budgetsAssist with support for financial auditsBenefits : Simple IRA and IRA matchingSTD / LTD / Life InsuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceDental insuranceAnnual performance bonusAdditional bonus opportunitiesFlexible spending accountPaid time off Spartan Shield Solutions provides equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees, regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or veteran status.
