Spartan Shield Solutions is a rapidly growing veteran-owned Fractional CFO and Outsourced Accounting firm based in Arlington, VA. We do this through increasing access to up-to-date financial information, reducing inefficiencies, and freeing senior management to focus more on revenue-generating activities. About the Role:Spartan Shield is seeking a knowledgeable, driven individual to help the continued success of the company and the clients we support as a Controller. The Controller will work closely with the CFO and accounting team to deliver superb accounting services. Successful candidates must have government contracting experience and MUST have extensive experience with Unanet software. Responsibilities:Provide superior customer serviceLead Unanet ImplementationReview of accounts payable and cash disbursements for multiple clientsReview of billings and receivablesReview of cash receiptsReview bank and other account reconciliationsReview journal entries and month-end closings, including financial statement preparationReview payrollSupport for annual tax and compliance filingsPreparation of budgetsSupport for financial auditsImplement and train on Unanet software as needed for clients Qualifications:A Bachelor degree or above in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience10+ years of accounting experience required, currently in a Controller position7+ years of Government Contractor experience requiredMust have extensive experience in Unanet software system including implementationProficiency in at least one of the following additional software programs: Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Jamis, QuickBooks DesktopCPA a plusFamiliarity with GAAP, cost accounting requiredFamiliarity with FAR requiredAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in other standard office applicationStrong problem-solving and reasoningAble to prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlinesExcellent written and oral communicationMust be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future Benefits:Simple IRA and IRA matchingSTD/LTD/Life InsuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceDental insuranceAnnual performance bonusAdditional bonus opportunitiesFlexible spending accountPaid time off Spartan Shield Solutions provides equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees, regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or veteran status.
