This position is in the Department of Theology, with an anticipated start date of August 2027.Job Duties and Responsibilities Teaching responsibilities are primarily in the area of New Testament, which may include courses such as The Bible, New Testament, New Testament electives, and Biblical Theology, among other courses as needed for the programs of the department. Other responsibilities include advising students, curriculum development, revision, and assessment, service on committees within the department, school, and university, and peer-reviewed scholarship. All CUW faculty members hold 12-month contracts and teach in fall, spring, and summer semesters as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent teaching ability in a wide range of theological coursesAbility to work well with colleaguesAbility to work effectively with students of different ages and from other countries and religionSupportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)Education and ExperienceStatus as an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or of a sister synod in fellowship with the LCMSPastoral experience; familiarity with online instruction and/or online course development, diverse cultural experience.A completed or nearly completed doctorate in exegetical theologyIdeal candidate has pastoral experience; familiarity with online instruction, diverse cultural experience Compensation and BenefitsThis is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position.
