Responsibilities
:Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust as needed. Carry out specific floor maintenance procedures including stripping, waxing, buffing, and sealing. Conduct carpet care such as spot cleaning, shampooing, and vacuuming. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners. Replenish supplies such as paper products and soap in restrooms. Operate housekeeping equipment safely and according to instructions. Follow safety guidelines, including proper use of cleaning chemicals. Maintain custodial closets, carts, and equipment in clean and organized condition. Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned. Report maintenance needs or safety hazards promptly to supervisor. Qualifications: Working knowledge of basic housekeeping techniques, tools, and equipment. Ability to read and write in English and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to stand for extended periods (5+ hours). Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. multiple times daily. Ability to learn, retain, and apply training procedures. Reliability and willingness to work as part of a custodial team. Work Environment: Indoor and outdoor university facilities. Frequent bending, lifting, and standing. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including during emergency closings as required Schedule: M-F 3pm-12:30am Must be able to work some weekends Pay: $15/hour
