The After School Program Staff Lead plays a vital frontline support role in the success of the ELOP program. This individual assists in maintaining the structure, systems, and smooth daily operations of after-school programming at their assigned school site. While not responsible for performing the duties of the Site Program Facilitator or organizational supervisor, the Staff Lead serves as a bridge between staff, school site leaders, and their organization, helping to onboard new staff, assist with attendance processes, and ensure consistent communication and coordination.

The Staff Lead model’s positive behavior, supports program expectations, and provides in-the-moment assistance to staff and students. In the temporary absence of the Program Facilitator/Site Lead, they may step into a leadership capacity to help ensure uninterrupted program operations and safety. Essential Functions Program Support & Site Operations

Attendance & Compliance Support
  • Assist with student and staff attendance tracking, including sign-in/sign-out procedures and documentation.
  • Help uphold compliance and safety protocols established by the school and partner organization.
Behavior Management & Staff Coaching
  • Model and assist staff with positive, trauma-informed behavior management strategies.
  • Assist staff with in-the-moment behavior challenges using youth-centered approaches.
  • Promote a respectful and supportive team dynamic.
Communication & Liaison
  • Foster strong communication between all levels of the program and site team.
Leadership in the Absence of Site Facilitator
  • Temporarily assume site leadership support when the ELOP Facilitator is unavailable by: Overseeing student transitions and safety protocols Monitoring daily program flow and ensuring staff support Communicating any incidents or urgent needs to the appropriate parties
Additional Duties
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to assist with evolving program needs and site-specific support.

University of the Pacific recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion is foundational to the success of our valued students and employees. • Familiarity in working in tutoring or after school program/environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. Ability to follow systems and take direction from multiple leadership points (organization and school site).
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to the mission of expanded learning.
  • Dependable and consistent presence on-site
  • Collaborative and communicative
  • Proactive in offering support without overstepping roles
  • Respectful of school and organizational leadership structures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
