Aqua-Tots Swim School is seeking a part-time, compassionate, and patient swim instructor to teach our SNAP (Students Needing Adaptive Programming) swim lessons.This role is perfect for paraprofessionals, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational or behavioral therapists, or anyone working with or supporting children with disabilities who are looking for a part-time (5-10 hours a week) opportunity to use their existing skills in a new and fun way. Swim coaches with 5+ years of teaching experience who have worked with children with adaptive needs are encouraged to apply. We will provide comprehensive training in our curriculum and equip you with the tools to adapt it to your existing strengths and expertise with children with disabilities.Plus, with a starting pay of $27+/Hour, you can earn a competitive wage while doing what you love.The SNAP Instructor is responsible for providing individualized swim instruction to children enrolled in Aqua-Tots' SNAP (Students Needing Adaptive Programming) program. This role focuses on water safety, swim skill development, and confidence-building in a supportive and adaptive environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide swim instruction exclusively to students in the SNAP program.Adapt lessons to meet the needs, abilities, and learning styles of each child.Ensure a safe, structured, and inclusive environment during all lessonsmunicate progress and goals with parents, caregivers, and guardians.Maintain consistency and reliability in attendance and scheduling.Follow Aqua-Tots' established safety protocols and curriculum standards.Participate in required training and professional development.QualificationsPrior experience working with children with disabilities (educational, therapeutic, or caregiving setting).Strong interpersonal skills with patience, empathy, and adaptability.Ability to provide positive reinforcement and encouragement to students.Must be dependable and maintain 90% attendance throughout employment. Required to work weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday, 3–8 PM) and ability to train Monday to Friday. NO seasonal availability. Must be available year-round. Ability to lift 50+ pounds, lifting and carrying out of water.Experienced swim coaches with 5+ years of teaching experience.Work EnvironmentIndoor, year-round swim facility with a heated 91° pool.Collaborative, team-oriented culture.Requires standing in water for extended periods and interacting directly with children and families.Requires getting in and out of the pool while assisting a child.
