Job Title: Echo/Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Vascular Technologist, Ultrasound Technologist General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5 days a week Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 0 years License: RDCS registration preferred or obtain after hire. RVT registration preferred or obtain after hire. RDMS (AB, OB-GYN) preferred or obtain after hire. Certifications: BLS required or obtain within 6 months of hire. Description: The Echo/Ultrasound Technologist shall perform echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, general, abdominal/OB-Gyn, and vascular studies. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Perform high-quality echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms as well as general ultrasound including abdominal and OB/GYN and vascular studies in accordance with all policies and procedures. Competently set up and assist during procedures. Work with electronic medical records to generate and complete exam orders. Perform, record, and analyze quality control data to make judgments concerning results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work areas, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory requirements. Regular attendance is required, including clocking in and out at scheduled times with minimal unplanned time off. Maintain clinical competency and current professional knowledge by completing in-house education and competencies, learning new protocols, and training on new equipment. Be responsible for contacting service personnel and notifying supervisors of malfunctioning equipment. Transport patients as needed. Have knowledge of PACS systems for releasing and transmitting images. Inform appropriate personnel of department supply needs to ensure uninterrupted testing. Work well with other departments to improve patient and staff experiences. Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies. Display and promote company values by assisting staff with other exams. Assist with front desk operations including checking in and out of patients. Assist with other patient care needs in the department. Perform other duties as assigned.
