Job Title: Radiographer Profession: Radiographer Specialty: Not specified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Overnight Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified; entry-level position License: Must meet eligibility requirements for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty required by the hiring department, to be achieved within 12 months of hire date. Certifications: AHA BLS required Must-Have: - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. - Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics. - Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. - Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs. - Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. - Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. - Strong discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment. - Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. - Excellent communication skills to work with staff, patients, and families in a professional manner. - High level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently with minimum supervision. - Understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to the specialty. Description: This entry-level position works under supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor. The role involves achieving competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. Patient populations include adults and/or pediatric patients for diagnostic, care, treatment, and surveillance. Responsibilities include providing safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care in various settings. Preparing patients for procedures and correlating clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicating and collaborating with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Utilizing specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques for diverse diagnostic and interventional procedures. Conducting post-procedure reviews to ensure all required elements are completed and documented. Transferring images and data to archival systems, entering technical data/findings, and preparing studies for reporting. Performing operator-level quality control checks and maintenance as per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participating in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments.
