Summary of Job Duties:

Works under the general supervision of the Chief of Police and the direct supervision of a Patrol Sergeant. Responsible for enforcement of traffic, criminal laws and parking regulations. This position is governed by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training and UAMS policies.

Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma / GED
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a valid Arkansas Driver’s license
• At least two years law enforcement experience
• Be certified by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training as a Police Officer and possess a General Certificate
• Ability to walk a minimum of 8 to 12 miles in a 12-hour shift
• Ability to climb stairwells
