Job Summary:
The Structural Engineer 2 (SE2) is responsible for performing structural design tasks to support Transmission and Distribution Substation Design as well as Transmission Line Design. This role involves producing engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirements focused on structural steel and concrete foundations, while emphasizing safety, quality, scheduling, and cost efficiency. The position requires occasional travel and the ability to work effectively in a remote or virtual environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform structural design work for transmission and distribution substations and transmission lines.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications for structural steel and concrete foundations.
- Develop material requirements and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams to support project scheduling and cost management.
- Support design efforts through remote collaboration and virtual work environments.
- Travel as needed to project sites or offices, approximately 15% of the time.
- Proficiency in structural engineering design and analysis.
- Experience with engineering drawings and specification development.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel and concrete foundation design principles.
- Ability to work effectively in remote or virtual environments with reliable internet access.
- Valid driver s license and willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with transmission and distribution substation design.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
- Knowledge of project management and scheduling software.
- Must be able to work in a remote/virtual environment with reliable internet access.
- Travel requirement of approximately 15% to project sites or offices.
- Standard full-time work schedule with flexibility to support remote work.
- Occasional travel may require schedule adjustments.
