Job Summary: Under the supervision and direction of the Medical Director of the Laboratory and/or other licensed Pathologist, the Pathologists Assistant (PA) prepares and performs the gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens.
Job Responsibilities:
Education/Training - Bachelors Degree from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program; Master of Health Science from a NAACLS Pathologists' Assistant Program preferred
Experience: Previous related experience including surgical pathology, autopsy dissection, histology procedures/techniques, gross dissection of surgical specimens, frozen sections and post-mortem examinations, preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently required.
Licensure: NYS pathology assistant license required. AAPA fellowship or ASCP certification required.
