Test Engineer

Our client, an advanced energy technology organization developing next-generation power generation systems, is looking for a Test Engineer. This role supports the planning, execution, and documentation of engineering test programs, including research and development, validation, qualification, and acceptance testing. The Test Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure testing is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements.
Location: Bellevue, WA and Everett, WA (Office and Lab locations)
Duration: 12 Months
Compensation: $52 - $85 per hour.
Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary:
The Test Engineer will support engineering test programs from planning through execution by assisting with test design, experimental setup, data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role requires experience working in laboratory or research environments and the ability to collaborate with engineers and technicians to execute complex testing activities while maintaining high standards of safety and technical quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing test requirements, test plans, test designs, and test procedures for engineering and research activities.

• Execute research and development, validation, qualification, and acceptance testing in laboratory environments.

• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports documenting results and recommendations.

• Support the setup, commissioning, and execution of experimental equipment and test systems.

• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure testing activities meet technical requirements and project schedules.

• Maintain accurate test documentation and support continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Apply engineering best practices while maintaining a strong focus on laboratory safety and quality standards.

• Manage multiple testing activities and priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in a testing, laboratory, or research and development environment.

• Experience working in laboratory settings.

• Experience performing post-test data analysis, documentation, and technical reporting.

• Experience supporting multiple testing types, including R&D, validation, qualification, and acceptance testing.

• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and scientific teams.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Strong commitment to laboratory safety and engineering excellence.

Nice to Have:

• Experience supporting prototype development or engineering product testing.

• Experience developing test procedures, test plans, and technical reports.

• Familiarity with instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or laboratory automation.

• Experience working in nuclear, aerospace, energy, or other highly regulated engineering environments.
