Senior AccountantJMP, a subsidiary of SAS, is committed to empowering scientists and engineers via our world-class family of statistical software products.For over 35 years, JMP has enabled customers to speed new drugs to market, to design better products and processes, and to figure out how to restore ecosystems.Advancements are made when brilliant people use JMP statistical discovery software to see what they've not seen before.If you are a problem solver, a connector, and someone who enjoys helping others, then you might just be the next person to join this dynamic, growing, and global team.The JMP Finance team is hiring a Senior Accountant.What you'll do:This role is crucial to the success of our Finance team and includes working closely with other team members.Broadly, the Senior Accountant will perform daily tasks as it relates to travel, expense, and other general ledger transactions including recordkeeping, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.Specific job responsibilities will include:Reviewing expense transactions to ensure they conform to company policy, escalating violations to leadership as neededProactively researching issues and proposing solutions for resolutionAssisting in the creation of processes and procedures to properly capture, track and report expense transactionsProviding training to employees on expense policies and system usageSupporting employees by providing great customer service through answering questions but also driving complianceEntering journal entries and maintaining the general ledgerPreparing monthly account reconciliations of financial data, researching variances, and adjusting as neededCreating and maintaining KPIsAssisting with procure to pay processes as neededInitiating requests for system enhancements and assisting with user acceptance testingParticipating in special projects and initiatives as neededWhat we're looking for:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred with 7 to 8 years of expense or accounting experience in a multinational organizationBachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.Master's degree and/or accounting certification preferredSolid working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesAbility to handle multiple processes and exercise independent judgement to determine appropriate actionStrong attention to details and ability to meet deadlinesStrong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience with Navan or NetSuite a plusHeadquarters in Cary, NC but open to remote applicantsWorld-class benefitsHighlights includeComprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision plans.Medical plan options include:PPO with low annual deductible and copays.HDHP combined with a health savings account with a contribution from SAS (no access to on-site health care center).Onsite Health Care Center (HQ) that's free to employees and family members enrolled in the PPO plan.There's a pharmacy too!
