Serves as subject matter expert of the Online Inventory Database. Responsible for determining project needs, develops project plan and timeline for conversion activity. Provides guidance to IC staff on changes to guidelines and policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Works with Inventory management on special projects including conversions and new initiatives. • Responsible for determining project needs, developing the project plan, completing the project and documentation. • Notifies other IC Staff of the project activities and instructs them on duties that need to be performed. Provides support, monitors progress and ensures projects are completed according to the project plan and timeline. • Develops system for documenting inventory functions for the locations and update as needed. • Educating IC staff on new or changed processes and polices as they develop. • Reviews SKU’s and BOM items added to the ERPs for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policies. Makes corrections when deem necessary. Works with the SKU setup team to educate and enforce SKU guidelines and policies. • Performs inventory maintenance of SKU setup and makes corrections when deemed necessary. • Enters SKU’s into the OnLine inventory database received from intercompany requisitions and conversion activities including bulk item/bom uploads. Communicates with requestors when task is completed. • Works with Inventory management in ensuring proper setup and documentation for specialty SKU items ( VMI, Customer Specific SKUs, Basis Trade items, etc). • Reviews active inventory items to determine when they can be archived and perform the steps and documentation to accomplish this task. • Works directly with location personnel, to assist in problem resolution, recommendations and general customer service issues. • Other duties may be assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Must have a thorough knowledge of Builders FirstSource Inventory setup, SKUs and processes. • Typically requires that individual has prior employment history at BFS. Knowledge of building materials required. • Familiarity with Online ERP system preferred. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees within the organization. • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. • Reasoning - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. • Computer Skills - Should have knowledge of Inventory software and Order processing systems. Word Processing and Spreadsheet software experience required.
