Press Operator (2nd Shift)

The Press Operator sets up and operates flexographic presses to produce quality products that meet customer and production standards while monitoring ink colors ensuring proper substrate cutting. The Press Operator collaborates with the team to maintain safety, efficiency, and product consistency in an inclusive work environment. 2nd Shift runs Monday through Friday, (2:45 pm to 11:15 pm) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Set up ink, tooling, and dies according to customer and production specifications, ensuring accurate substrate cutting.Replace master roll, remove waste, and stage materials as needed.Monitor and adjust ink colors and press settings to maintain consistency and quality throughout the run.Verify materials, color standards, and specifications match job requirements before and during production.Start and operate the press, achieving acceptable color, fit, registration, and position efficiently.Maintain proper running speeds, tension, and plate alignment; monitor and adjust for consistent, high-quality output with minimal waste.Perform quality checks, scan sheets for accuracy, and pull samples for Quality Assurance.Complete required paperwork and document material usage and time.Conduct routine preventative maintenance, clean equipment and workstation, and assist with general area upkeep.Remove and clean plates, cylinders, and related press components as needed.Report inventory deficiencies to supervisor in a timely manner.Stage printer material for next department or process.Follow all department work instructions.Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policies.Perform other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).Experience with flexographic presses is highly preferred. Machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting is required. While the manufacturing area is climate controlled, employees may experience relatively warm or cold temperatures throughout the year. Additionally, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud, however, hearing protection is provided and not necessary in all areas of facility.
