What We’re Looking For:

· Detail-oriented and dependable with a strong sense of responsibility

· Ability to work independently and follow procedures accurately

· One year of medical records experience preferred

· High School Diploma or GED preferred

· Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and safety practices

· Comfortable using filing systems, phones, and basic computer tools

· Physically able to perform medium work (lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally)

· Special skills, license and knowledge requirements

What You Will Do:

· Perform clerical tasks to support the coordination of medical records and ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in record handling.

· Locate, record, retrieve, and file medical records according to department procedures

· Maintain accurate and organized files using number and color-coded systems

· Answer phones professionally and record information accurately

· Assemble, analyze, and review medical records for discharged patients

· Use medical record indices and computer systems for record retrieval

· File dictation and update computer records with 100% accuracy

· Report supply shortages or equipment issues promptly

· Follow HIPAA and infection control guidelines

· Complete all assigned tasks during your shift and communicate follow-ups

· Participate in performance improvement and cost management initiatives

· Perform other duties as assigned
