Floor Technician Miami Airport 3rd shift

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and waxing.
• Operate and maintain specialized floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and burnishers.
• Respond promptly to spills and other floor-related maintenance needs to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
• Apply appropriate floor finishes and treatments according to established procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify areas needing additional care or repairs.
• Dispose of waste materials and follow proper cleaning protocols.
• Assist with carpet cleaning, spot treatments, and stain removal as necessary.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies.
• Work collaboratively with custodial and maintenance teams to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 or more months experience as a floor technician or in janitorial services is required.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Completion of significant safety training is required.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment (cleaning products, tools, and ladders) and trash and the ability to safely use the equipment provided. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
