Job Title: Endo/GI Lab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: GI/Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification Must-Have: Strong circulating and teching skills for advanced procedures such as EUS, ERCP, etc. Description: Pre-questionnaire is required prior to manager review and offer. Candidates should list GI procedures they are comfortable circulating independently. Candidates should also list GI procedures they are comfortable teching independently. In the last 6 months, candidates should indicate approximately how many EUS procedures they have circulated. If none, candidates should provide the date of their last EUS procedure. In the last 6 months, candidates should indicate approximately how many EUS procedures they have teched. If none, candidates should provide the date of their last EUS procedure. In the last 6 months, candidates should indicate approximately how many ERCP procedures they have circulated. If none, candidates should provide the date of their last ERCP procedure. In the last 6 months, candidates should indicate approximately how many ERCP procedures they have teched. If none, candidates should provide the date of their last ERCP procedure. Candidates must comply with the fingernail policy; artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract. Weekly weeknight call plus weekend call is required. Currently, the team covers call approximately 1-2 weeknights per week and every 3 weekends. Responsibilities include managing specialized imaging catheters, sphincterotomy wires, and stents to treat bile and pancreatic duct issues. Operating and troubleshooting ultrasound processors and assisting with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) tools for tissue biopsies is required. Setting up advanced electrocautery, injection needles, and snares for removing large polyps or early-stage cancerous lesions is part of the role. Handling specialized equipment, such as balloon catheters, for visualizing and treating the small bowel will be required. Assisting with endoscopic suturing, stent deployment, and setting up Endoflip devices for structural GI conditions will also be part of the workload. Additionally, responsibilities include high-level disinfection and reprocessing of complex scopes in accordance with established standards. Candidates must pass an open book exam during orientation to demonstrate skill proficiency. A minimum score of 90% is required to pass, or termination may occur. Fingernail policy compliance is essential, as refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the 13-week assignment. Charting system used will be EPIC. This position is set in an acute care setting.
