Entry Level Histotechnologist (Healthcare Entry Professional)

Job Summary:
The Department of Pathology is excited to recruit a full-time (1.0 FTE) entry-level Histotechnologist at the rank of Healthcare Entry Professional. The entry-level histotechnologist will process whole mount prostate, prostate mapping biopsies, and other types of specimens received in the Histology Subspeciality Laboratory. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
·Technical- 60%
oGross description and dissection of whole prostate specimens, prostate mapping biopsy specimens.
oCMOCO only biopsy tissue samples.
oReprocessing of FFPI tissue samples for Electron Microscopy.
oParaffin Embedding of large format and biopsy tissue samples.
oMicrotomy sectioning of tissue samples.
oStaining and cover slipping of tissue samples
·Administrative – 20%
oManual tracking of patient tissue samples.
oMaintenance of supply inventory.
·Compliance and operational – 20%
oCleaning and organization of workstations
oDisposal of biological waste.
oChanging solutions in tissue processors.
oAdherence to all operational maintenance requirements.
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
