Job description
Job Opportunity: Painter

A client of ours in Tigard is looking to add a Painter to their team. This person should have the ability and experience to apply coats of paint, varnish, and enamel to various types of materials. They should be well-rounded and understand the general operation of a paint shop and custom painting.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply coats of paint, varnish, and enamel to a variety of materials in a production environment.
  • Read and interpret work orders from supervisors regarding painting specifications.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and smoothing materials.
  • Select premixed paints or mix pigments, oils, and thinning and drying substances to achieve specified colors.
  • Operate spray equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes.
  • Clean and maintain spray equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain quality and efficiency standards within the paint shop.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals.
  • Assist other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a production or paint shop environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of paint shop operations.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining workplace standards and performance expectations.
  • Flexible and willing to assist other departments when needed.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday, 6AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $23 - $26 per hour

Duration: This is a temp-to-hire position.
