As an Instructional Aide Sub, you’ll work 1:1 or in small groups with students, assisting them in their learning, daily routines, and classroom participation. Whether you’re a seasoned paraprofessional or bringing your compassion and adaptability from another field, your supportive presence can shape students’ success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom settings
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance as directed by teachers and staff
- Help students transition through daily routines and actively participate in class
- Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs as assigned
- Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care as needed
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
School Compliance Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
- TB test (as required by the district)
- Current clearances, or willingness to obtain before starting
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Background in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is a plus, but not required
- Dependable, patient, and collaborative approach
