Job descriptionWe have an outstanding Contract position for a Design Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Grand Prairie, TX surrounding area. **US Citizenship is required.** **Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.** Responsibilities : Designs major components, or major portions of a functional system, or technically advanced prototype, promotional, or specific products. Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present the design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors, including ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-to-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and costs. Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development. Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers. Basic Hiring Criteria : Minimum 3 years of experience with Creo design. Minimum 2 years of experience with Windchill PLM/PDM. Mechanical primary and secondary structures. Minimum 1 year of experience with Concept development. Minimum 1 year of experience with Design review content preparation. Minimum 4 years of experience with creating finished 3D Models. Minimum 2 years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Minimum 2 years of experience with Complex Mechanical/Electrical Concepts. Desired Qualifications : Model-Based Definition (MBD). Military connected talent encouraged to apply.
