Birch Academy is seeking a collaborative and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Special Education team.

About Birch Academy

Birch Academy is a 10-month specialized school, approved by the New Hampshire Department of Education. Our program is designed to support children whose primary special education needs are related to autism or developmental delays. We focus on helping students build a strong academic foundation, utilizing their personal strengths, and developing independence through functional communication and adaptive skills.

At Birch Academy, we are proud of our interdisciplinary team, which includes:

  • Certified Special Education Administrator

  • Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBAs)

  • Certified Educators

  • Occupational Therapist

  • Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)

  • Behavior Technicians

Together, this team, alongside educational consultants, crafts individualized programs to address each student's unique needs. Our goal is to enhance academic growth, develop resilience to learning barriers, and generalize skills across various environments.

We’re Looking For

We are seeking a passionate SLP to join our team. You will work collaboratively with students, families, and other professionals to provide high-quality educational services to students with diverse learning needs.


The SLP Role

The SLP supports high school students in developing communication skills that promote academic success, social engagement, and independence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse learners, including neurodiverse students such as those with autism, ADHD, and language-based learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and prepare reports.

  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Support students' communication, social-pragmatic skills, and self-advocacy.

  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff across settings.

  • Consult with staff and partner with families to support student progress.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Valid state SLP license and/or educational certification required.

  • CCC-SLP preferred; CF candidates may be considered.

  • Experience working with adolescents or neurodiverse learners preferred.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
