McAlvain Construction, a Big-D Company, has an opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team of construction professionals based in the Boise, ID area. Experience/Training: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 2+ years of experience in accounting for a commercial construction company. Experience with Trimble Viewpoint is a plus but not required. Experience working with State contracts is a plus but not required. Critical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management skills, with the ability to multi-task across different problems. Attention to detail. Exhibits the desire to be a part of a team. Highly organized. Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite programs, specifically Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of the construction industry, project accounting, project management, with an aptitude for numbers. Ability to be resourceful and problem solve problems as they arise. Maintain a friendly and courteous attitude, even under stressful situations. Ability to maintain an elevated level of confidentiality. Demonstrates ownership over their responsibilities and sees tasks through the finish line.
This position will be supporting multiple project teams across the division, interacting with them and other members of the company daily. The right person for this position will have experience working in accounting underneath a General Contractor, have very strong organizational skills, and an intense attention to detail.
