Job description
Loan Officer
The main function of this position is to proactively solicit new residential mortgage clients, while developing and cultivating a strong business network of referrals. It is the responsibility of a Loan Officer to analyze a borrower's financial and credit data to determine creditworthiness and the probability of financial security in repayment efforts.
Responsibilities include originating their own sales by contacting prospective clients, developing and maintaining referral sources, spending time outside of the office originating loans, meeting with prospective clients at various locations, selling mortgage loan products/packages, obtaining credit information and necessary documentation for the application process, engaging in marketing and promotional activities, developing new business opportunities and sales leads, developing PRMI product knowledge, reviewing application information, analyzing and exercising independent judgment in advancing business objectives, carrying out major assignments affecting business operations, completing necessary continuing education, providing origination services in the state of licensure, creating and maintaining excellent business relationships with referral client base, corresponding, communicating, and coordinating with clients and support staff, and working effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
Qualifications include sales experience in the mortgage industry, familiarity with mortgage processes, exceptional customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills, ability to comprehend and analyze financial information, ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial information, established contact and referral list within the real estate and mortgage industries, ability to pass a required background check, and compliance with mortgage and fair lending laws and regulations as well as PRMI policies.
