Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is seeking a faithful and dedicated Staff Accountant to support the ministry by managing the financial responsibilities that help advance the Gospel. We do this by living out the listening, serving, and helping posture of Jesus in our church community./ppPosition Purpose / Summary/ppThe Staff Accountant is responsible for processing and coordinating donations and missionaries support, preparing bank deposits, journal entries, G/L reconciliations, and some account analysis for the organization. The Staff Accountant will also work closely with the Missions and Communications departments. This work is carried out in support of the mission and vision of CCCM. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this position by supporting and praying for missionaries and donors while having a strong relationship with Jesus Christ./ppResponsibilities/pulliAgree with and live out the vision and values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith/liliBe an example to those who you come in contact and serve with by exuding the love of Christ/liliUnderstand that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal/liliProcess contributions in donor system, maintain giving records and restricted income/liliAssist with month end closing, reconciliations and other related duties./liliManage Year-end contributions reporting and statements./liliMaintain mission grants, donations and support disbursements using the Accounts payable system and processes./liliAssist Controller in preparation and presentation of monthly financial and ad hoc reports/liliAssist Controller with special development and strategic projects as needed./liliAssist in preparation of audit schedules./liliActively monitor and report contribution trends to church team./liliWork closely with Church Communications team regarding quarterly reports and communications/liliAdditional duties as assigned/li/ulpQualifications/pulli3 years of accounting experience or a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration/liliNon-Profit accounting experience preferred/liliExperience in Sage and Bill helpful/liliProficient in computer software applications such as Excel, Teams and other MS Office Suite modules/liliWork well both independently and in team environments/liliStrong written and verbal communication skills/liliProven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment/li/ulpPhysical Demands/ppWhile performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 30 pounds.
