Staff Accountant

We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to support the financial activities of Atego as it develops and expands its operations in the US. The Staff Accountant will be the primary point of contact for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll. The position will ideally suit a methodical individual with demonstrated experience in accounting and excellent communication skills. The position reports to the US Controller for Atego.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Processing and managing accounts receivables and accounts payable
- Liaising with customers, particularly regarding payment / collections
- Preparing regular reporting for management on accounts receivable and payable
- Processing cash transactions and assisting the Controller with cash management
- Performing regular reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
- Processing regular payroll for Atego US group companies
- Processing and monitoring expense reports
- Assisting the Controller with preparation of regular forecasts and other reporting
- Preparation and submission of regular sales and payroll tax returns
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Regular vendor, customer and contractor maintenance
- Preparation of some journal entries, particularly relating to payroll
- Performing month-end close procedures
- Assisting with Sales Administration processes, as necessary
- Performing administration related to employee benefits (including 401K and insurances)
- Performing employee (W2) and contractors (1099) set-up activities
- Providing assistance to the Controller in relation to corporate matters
- Performing other ad hoc financial analyses, as required
- Any other essential function that may occur from time to time
Experiential Requirements Include:
- 2 to 4 years of experience in accounts payable, receivable, payroll and financial reporting
- High degree of accounting & financial analysis skills
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Quickbooks
- Knowledge of CA and AZ sales tax is an advantage
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
