Management Analyst
The Management Analyst provides management support and serves as a liaison between assigned County departments, County Administrative Office, and the Solano County Board of Supervisors by reviewing and analyzing budget requests, expenditures, agenda items, contracts, and other items requiring approval or concurrence by County Administrative Office or Board of Supervisors. The Analyst is also responsible for monitoring programmatic, personnel, and fiscal activities of assigned County departments. Analysts provide consultation to departments and information to the Board and County management team on a broad range of issues.
This position reports to the Assistant County Administrator who supports the County Administrator in their efforts to lead the County organization, and works in a team environment with other analysts and the budget officer to produce budgets, agenda reports, and policy reports for the County.
The Management Analyst series consists of four management level classes used exclusively in the County Administrator's Office, of which the principal is the highest level within the series.
This is an at-will position, exempt from civil service and serves at the discretion of the appointing authority.

- Leading a team, or teams, of analysts and support staff;

Education and/or experience requirements:
- Management Analyst (Senior): $127,522.32 - $155,004.24/yearly Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in the public sector involving fiscal operations and analysis, budget development, financial/budget analysis, legislative analysis, operational management, and general management of various county functions; AND Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in business administration, public administration, economics, political science, or a closely related field.
- Management Analyst (Principal ): $154,797.84 - $188,157.72/yearly Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in the public sector that included performing administrative, analytical, budgetary, fiscal, policy and/or program work requiring analysis and interpretation of data. At least two years of experience must have been at the advanced-journey level comparable to the County's Management Analyst (Senior) class. AND Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public financial management, business/public administration, economics, policy analysis, or other fields directly related to the budget, fiscal, and management duties of this class. Master's degree is desirable.
Selection process will include an initial application screening, a mandatory information meeting, a supplemental questionnaire assessment, a written and/or practical exam, an oral board exam, or any combination listed.
