Staff Accountant
Accountant Wanted. Precision Expected. We're looking for a Staff Accountant in Vista who knows accounting beyond the basics and takes ownership of the numbers. Solid work. Real responsibility. A good fit for an accountant who values accuracy, structure, and getting it right.
What's Required:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 36+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Experience with accounting software systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidential financial information
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Experience with Dynamics Great Plains preferred
- Knowledge of IFRS and revenue recognition standards preferred
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions
- Perform monthly account reconciliations including bank, balance sheet, and income statement accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
- Prepare financial statement schedules and reports
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responses to inquiries
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, and related documentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations
