Physical Therapist Assistant
The Physical Therapist Assistant interacts directly and indirectly with patients in the delivery of physical therapy services which includes, but is not limited to, utilization of therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, functional mobility and training in therapeutic activities as outlined by the treatment plan developed by the evaluating Physical Therapist in accordance with the practice guidelines of the state of Arizona.
Supports therapist in assessing the condition of patients, planning treatment programs, preparing treatment schedules and keeping records on the progress of treatment.
Assists with therapeutic procedures or administering procedures under a therapist's supervision.
Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing.
This position does provide direct patient care to the patient populations served by this facility in the Acute Rehab, inpatient and/or outpatient settings according to operational need; documents outcomes, consults with other specialists as needed; implements changes in the care plan at the direction of the supervising PT as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomeDocuments the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment.provides patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence; attends hospital and community meetings as appropriate; serves on various committees; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education
High School Education or equivalent REQUIRED
Graduate of a Program in Discipline RequiredMust possess a current, active Arizona Certificate as a Physical Therapy Assistant as verified thru the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association XREQUIRED
Licenses:
Must have valid, unrestricted Arizona license
Arizona Certificate as a Physical Therapy Assistant as verified thru the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
