That's why we continuously invest in innovative ideas, such as AI-enabled insights and technology-powered solutions, to enhance our services. Join us at Crowe and embark on a career where you can help shape the future of our industry.

Job Description:

Consulting is a dynamic business focused on solving problems for our clients and serving our core markets through innovative solutions. As technology and AI continue to reshape the consulting landscape, we are looking for individuals who are curious, adaptable, and eager to learn. At Crowe, consultants are expected to build both technical and transferable skills, think critically, and use technology to solve real business problems. In this role, you will continuously learn, collaborate across teams, and explore how tools, including emerging AI capabilities, can improve efficiency, insights, and client outcomes.

In management at Crowe, you play a pivotal role in leading teams, guiding project execution, and deepening client relationships. You are expected to contribute to account planning, identify opportunities to add value, and ensure high-quality delivery. As your responsibilities expand, you take on broader account ownership, balancing project leadership with growing involvement in client strategy and solution development.

Success in this role comes from a growth mindset, strong communication skills, advanced critical thinking, and the ability to navigate new challenges with confidence.

Crowe is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Government Consultant to join our growing public sector consulting practice. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to impactful projects that help government clients modernize their Human Capital Management (HCM) and payroll systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in management consulting, a passion for solving complex business challenges, and the ability to lead teams and drive results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with public sector clients to design and implement solutions that improve business processes and address organizational challenges
  • Lead and mentor business analyst teams in conducting detailed process analysis and system assessments
  • Analyze business operations and develop actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, interviews, and workshops to gather business and technical requirements
  • Support clients with analytical research to align policies, procedures, and business needs with configured functionality
  • Apply Agile methodology to write user stories, plan and monitor development and deployment progress, and demonstrate delivered functionality
  • Support testing and reconciliation from the functional / business process perspective
  • Deliver high-quality written reports, process documentation, and engaging client presentations
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Support proposal development, client relationship management, and business development efforts

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and 5 to 8 years of professional experience in management consulting
  • Current certification in one or more of the following: CBAP, CSM, PMI-PBA, or PMP
  • In-depth knowledge of HR/Payroll processes
  • Prior experience implementing payroll or HCM software, including system configuration and testing
  • Prior experience using ALM software (JIRA, DevOps, ELM)
  • Experience performing work in a structured Agile or Scrum environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach within a matrixed environment
  • Strong experience working with public sector clients
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • A consistent record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large projects (100k+ employees, multi-year implementations)
  • Experience working with enterprise-level government systems and public sector project lifecycles
