Become a shareholder of IMA Financial Group a 50-year-old, employee-owned enterprise that was founded in Wichita and has seen explosive national expansion over the past 5 years.

Contribute to the next leg of growth in IMA Private Wealth, building your practice with the help of local and national resources for planning, investments, operations, technology, and compliance.

Collaborate with 20+ local IMA insurance brokers (400+ nationally) on client cross-referrals.

Be part of a long-term succession plan to ensure continuity of client experiences.

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build, manage, and expand a book of business consisting of affluent and high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Construct and deliver goals-based financial planning (in partnership with specialized planning resources where needed) across retirement, fee-based investment management, tax-aware strategies, estate planning coordination, risk management, and education funding.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analyses and present clear, actionable plans that drive client engagement and long-term commitment.
  • Work collaboratively with the IMA Private Wealth investment team to design, implement, and manage investment portfolios focused on long-term principal growth and protection using disciplined asset allocation, rebalancing, and ongoing monitoring processes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, collaborating with CPAs, attorneys, and other external professionals as needed.
  • Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, relatable manner that builds confidence and encourages informed decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and broaden service offerings through ongoing planning discussions.
  • Maintain adherence to fiduciary standards, SEC/State regulations, and internal compliance policies.
  • Stay current on market trends, planning strategies, and regulatory developments.
  • Contribute to firm-wide growth initiatives and provide mentorship to junior advisors or planners as appropriate.
  • Support and demonstrate IMA's core values.
  • Value and understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • FINRA Series 65 required (S66 acceptable as well).
  • CFP certification is strongly preferred; CFA, CPA, or other advanced designations are advantageous.
  • Life Insurance license preferred (required to be able to sell insurance products).
  • 7+ years of experience in a fee-only or fiduciary advisory role with demonstrated success in business development. Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to originate new client relationships and grow revenue through consultative, advice-driven sales.
  • Strong technical expertise in investments, retirement planning, tax strategies, and estate planning fundamentals.
  • Experience managing client relationships across the full lifecycle, from prospecting to ongoing service.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High ethical standards and a strong commitment to fiduciary responsibility.
  • Proficiency with financial planning software, CRM systems, and portfolio management platforms. Experience with Envestnet, MoneyGuidePro and Salesforce a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Limited travel required (<10%).

Competencies & Traits:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive to build and grow a personal book of business.
  • Comfortable working in teams and engaging other talented specialists in client relationships.
