Local CDL A Flatbed Driver

Job Summary
This position is responsible for the pickup and offloading of aggregate raw materials using a tractor and end dump trailer. In some instances, the drivers may be required to make flatbed customer deliveries as needed. Current CDL A license and clean MVR are required. Local deliveries and home every night.
Job Responsibilities
- Picking up raw aggregate materials using a tractor and end dump trailer
- Safely dumping raw materials using end dump trailer
- Transporting block, mortar, and all other building materials to customer in a safe manner as needed
- Making assigned deliveries in a safe and timely manner
- Assisting and supervising loading of truck to ensure proper order and weight distribution
- Receiving from dispatcher invoice for materials, directions to job site and any special instructions and following them to the detail
- Maintaining complete and accurate records such as drivers' daily truck log, fuel tickets, delivery documentation, and any other required documents according to state and federal regulations
- Maintaining good customer relations
- Performing pre-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and reporting immediately any concerns or problems
- Obtaining shipping bills and necessary signatures and returning completed paperwork to the shipping department
- Operating tractor-trailer/vehicle according to state and federal laws and observing all safety regulations established by the company and the Department of Motor Vehicles
- Providing and documenting proper routine maintenance of assigned truck and loading/unloading equipment
- Surveying job site and unloading cargo in the best area available in a safe manner
- Inspecting truck equipment and supplies such as tires, brakes, fuel, oil, and water
- Developing good knowledge of inventory, sizes, types, colors, and pallet package
- Monitoring and immediately reporting problems with assigned equipment operations, product quality, customer satisfaction, and traffic
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
- High school diploma / equivalent
- Must have CDL A
- Must have at least 2 years of current CDL experience
- Clean MVR
- Detail-oriented
- Must have good communication skills
- Good knowledge of the product for product quality assurance
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Required DOT yearly physical
- Employee is frequently required to climb
