Job Summary:We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily operations within a custom equipment manufacturing environment. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, spending approximately half of the time supporting machine assembly, troubleshooting, and production challenges while the remaining time is dedicated to supervising personnel, coordinating production schedules, and driving operational performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, prior manufacturing leadership experience, and a passion for developing teams while ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
Job Duties:- Supervise daily assembly operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved.
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule assembly work using ERP systems and production timelines.
- Assign work based on production demands, employee skill levels, and resource availability.
- Monitor production progress and communicate schedule risks or obstacles to leadership.
- Perform hands-on machine assembly, troubleshooting, equipment modifications, and rework as needed.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and pneumatic equipment issues while providing technical support to the assembly team.
- Serve as the technical resource for complex equipment builds and manufacturing challenges.
- Ensure products meet established quality standards and manufacturing specifications.
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering to provide feedback on manufacturability and support product improvements.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Coach, mentor, and develop assembly technicians while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Support hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management activities.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and quality metrics while maintaining a strong leadership presence on the production floor.
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Travel occasionally to support equipment installations, startup activities, or customer support when required.
Qualifications:- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will also be considered.
- 8–10 years of hands-on manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience assembling and troubleshooting industrial machinery or custom equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly prints, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
- Experience working with custom machinery, automation equipment, or capital equipment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with experience performing root cause analysis and implementing process improvements.
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and safety.
