California Premier Pain Clinics is looking for a part-time or full-time Medical Assistant to join our medical office. Must be willing to work weekends. The ideal candidate would travel between Hayward and S. San Francisco location.
Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.
Knowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practices
Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
Skill in maintaining records and recording test results
Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
Ability to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentiality
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
Ability to communicate clearly
Knowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiology
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment
Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
Ability to speak clearly and concisely
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, coworkers and the public
Responsibilities include assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management, performing selected nursing and administrative duties, preparing patients for examination and treatment, taking patient vital signs, preparing exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, giving injections, applying splints and dressings, preparing and maintaining supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization, assisting physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals, screening telephone calls for referral to physician or provider, relaying provider communications to patients by phone or mail, providing general information on departmental policies, and following any other job-related instructions and performing any other job-related duties as requested.
