Job description
Staff Accountant
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a broad spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the daily, monthly and yearly maintenance of general ledger accounting records to assure integrity, accuracy and timeliness of accounting information.
- Process accounts payable transactions.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliation procedures across general ledger accounts, bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to maintain precise financial records.
- Manage journal entries process using accounting software.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including general ledger review.
- Support internal audits and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
- Cross-train on all accounting processes and other accounting functions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting standards.
- Skilled in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Understanding of workflows in a manufacturing environment.
- High proficiency with Microsoft applications, including an advanced understanding of complex Excel formulas and applications.
