Position Summary

Centric Fiber (“Centric”) delivers industry-leading high-speed internet through Centric Fiber and natural gas services through its UniGas division. Centric serves ground-up commercial and residential developments, as well as master-planned communities in all major metropolitan markets across Texas and Central Florida. As the only integrated telecom and natural gas provider currently in the market, Centric is rapidly expanding into new regions due to its advantageous dual-model approach. Our team is dedicated to bridging infrastructure gaps through strategic value creation and continuous innovation.

The Technician – Fiber Operations is responsible for performing fiber splicing, residential and commercial installations, troubleshooting service issues, and executing offsite responsibilities such as rack and stack, equipment deployment, and vendor coordination to bring new communities online. This role is also accountable for addressing network issues and outages, restoring service, and ensuring sites are back online quickly and reliably. The position plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting Centric’s community growth initiatives.

• Assist in turning up new communities to ensure readiness before resident move-ins.

• Respond to network issues and outages, diagnosing and repairing problems to restore service quickly.

• Work with internal teams and vendors to coordinate corrective actions during outages and ensure site stability.

• Provide customers with education and assistance regarding Centric services, equipment, and products.

• Install, service, disconnect, and reconnect telephony and modem equipment in customer homes.

• Ensure all work complies with Centric procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulations.

• Accurately document installation, outage, and service activity, including ticket resolution and work orders.

• Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicles in proper working condition.

• Report field and offsite issues to the Manager – Fiber Operations for timely resolution.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 2+ years of telecommunications, fiber installation, or network field operations experience.

• Familiarity with offsite technical work (rack and stack, cabinet/equipment deployment, site readiness).

• Experience troubleshooting and restoring service during network outages.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

• Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to travel locally up to 100% within assigned markets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or certification in fiber splicing and optical testing.

• Experience with residential and commercial fiber optic installations.

• Experience coordinating with vendors and builders to support community turn-up.

• Familiarity with cabinet installation, powering, and testing for new sites.
