Accountant
The Accountant is responsible for providing support to the Accounting Department, contributing to its success in supporting the company's construction projects, financial reporting responsibilities, and maintaining a robust internal controls environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries and monthly accruals.
- Manage fixed assets and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Handle payroll taxes, payroll quarterlies, and W2 processing.
- Conduct worker's compensation and liability insurance reporting.
- Provide OCIP support, including enrollment, monthly reporting, and audit support.
- Review and prepare filings for sales and use tax, as well as B&O tax.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end reporting processes.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in accounting, general ledger, and reconciliation.
- Experience with month-end and year-end reporting.
- Strong understanding and application of GAAP.
- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheet processes.
- Competence in ERP systems, particularly Trimble and Spectrum V14.
- Ability to handle payroll tax, sales tax, and multi-state cash posting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction company experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Power BI is helpful.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to develop solutions and map processes effectively.
- Capability to learn new concepts and create new processes independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Work Environment
Work within a cubicle office environment as part of a team of six in the Accounting Department, which includes two AP Associates, two payroll personnel, one Senior Accountant, and an Accounting Manager. The role requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, with some flexibility. The company is one of the largest electrical contractors in the Pacific Northwest, supporting significant projects including data centers, semiconductor facilities, airports, casinos, higher education institutions, and healthcare facilities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
